Don't Let a Blowout Ruin Your Harvest: Professional Bag Techniques
There is nothing more frustrating than seeing a beautiful stream of "Liquid Gold" suddenly contaminated by plant material. A rosin bag blowout is usually the result of a small error in prep. Follow these professional fixes to keep your extractions clean.
01. Why Blowouts Happen (And How to Fix Them)
•Trapped Air Pockets: Loose material contains air that expands under 10+ tons of pressure, tearing the mesh.
The Fix: Always use a Dabpress Pre-Press Mold to eliminate air and ensure even pressure.
•Too Much Pressure, Too Fast: Instant max pressure is a recipe for disaster. Oil needs time to liquefy.
The Fix: Apply "pre-heat" for 45s, then increase pressure in small increments every 10s.
•Overloading the Bag: Leaving no "headroom" creates a weak point at the seam.
The Fix: Leave 1/2 inch of space at the top. Use the "Bottle-Tech" Fold (tucking the corners inward) for a reinforced vertical seal.
02. Choosing the Right Micron
The "Micron" refers to the size of the holes in the mesh. Choosing the wrong size affects both yield and purity:
•160 / 120 Micron: Best for Flower. Offers higher yield with good filtration.
•90 / 75 Micron: Professional choice for High-Quality Flower (Precision filtration).
•37 / 25 Micron: Mandatory for Hash, Sift, or Bubble. Prevents fine particles from escaping.
The Dabpress Advantage: Our Proprietary Double-Stitch Nylon Bags are engineered with ultrasonic seams. They are specifically tested to withstand the high-tonnage force of our 10-12 ton hydraulic presses without stretching or bursting.
03. Expert Collection Tips
•Seam Direction: Always turn your bags inside out before filling so the seam is protected on the inside.
•Centered Loading: Ensure the puck is perfectly centered on the plates. Off-center loading causes uneven pressure and bag failure.
SAFETY: NEVER EXCEED 1200 MATERIAL PSI WHEN USING NYLON BAGS. HIGH HEAT & EXCESSIVE PRESSURE CAN MELT NYLON.
