The Dabpress Caged Plate series is designed to convert any standard hydraulic shop press into a professional-grade solventless extraction lab. Follow this SOP for optimal alignment and high-yield results.
01. Capacity & Equipment Pairing
Choose the correct material load for your specific platen size:
•dp-rp35s (3x5"): Up to 28g | Best for 6-10 Ton Shop Presses.
•dp-rp37 (3x7"): Up to 35g | Best for 10-12 Ton Shop Presses.
•dp-rp557 (5.5x7"): Up to 63g | Best for 20-30 Ton Shop Presses.
Pro Tip: Always use a Pre-Press Mold (dp-pm series) to form a dense puck. This ensures even pressure and eliminates air pockets that cause bag blowouts.
02. Installation & Setup
1.Place the Bamboo Insulation Plank on top of your shop press arbor plates. Mandatory: This prevents your press frame from acting as a giant heat sink.
2.Place the Caged Frame on the bamboo plank. Lower the shop press piston to the top center of the frame and align accordingly.
3.Power on the PID controller. Set to 180-220°F (Flower) or 160-200°F (Sift). Allow 10 minutes for thermal soaking.
03. Professional Extraction Technique
•The Slow Ramp: Lower the piston until the plates just touch the puck. Wait 45-60s (Pre-heat). Slowly increase pressure until oil begins to flow.
•Pressure Target: Aim for 1,000 Material PSI for flower and 500 Material PSI for sift/hash. If the parchment tears, you are using excessive force.
•Pressure Maintenance: As oil escapes, the handle will feel softer. Gently add pressure to maintain your target PSI during the 90-120s timer.
04. Troubleshooting & FAQ
•Avoiding Blowouts: Ensure flowers are at 62% RH. Apply pressure much slower for fine materials like sift.
•Plate Alignment: If the top platen twists (normal on a cylinder ram), align it manually using a heat-resistant glove before applying full pressure.
•Low Yield? Check humidity with a small hygrometer. If material is dry, re-hydrate for 24h before pressing.
Safety Warning: Caged kits do not include the bottom plate holder. Always wear eye protection and keep hands clear of the hydraulic ram during operation.
