Precision Restoration: PID Temperature Module Replacement SOP
The Dabpress Temperature Control Box utilizes a modular PID design, allowing users to replace the internal controller without complex rewiring. If your display is unresponsive or temperature readings are erratic, follow this SOP to install a replacement module safely.
01. Safety & Housing Access
1.Power Down: Unplug the power cord from the rear of the temperature control box. Mandatory: Do not attempt replacement while connected to a power source.
2.Access Positioning: Turn the box upside down. This allows you to clearly see the internal locking mechanism located on the lower edge of the PID module’s front face.
02. Module Removal & Installation
The PID module is held in place by a spring-tensioned clip. No screws are required for this process:
3.Release the Lock: Use a small flathead screwdriver or a dab tool to gently depress the locking mechanism on the front housing face.
4.Slide Out: While keeping the lock depressed, pull the front of the PID module forward. The entire unit (including two circuit boards) will slide out of the external housing.
5.Insert New Module: Remove your replacement PID module from its shipping housing. Align it with the internal tracks of your control box and slide it in until it clicks into the locked position.
03. Verification & Power-Up
6.Flip the box back to its upright position and reconnect the power cord.
7.Engage the main power switch and both platen sub-switches. Confirm the display initializes and the PV (Process Value) begins to climb toward your SV (Set Value).
Expert Success Tip: If the replacement module feels stuck during insertion, do not force it. Ensure the circuit boards are seated correctly in the guiding rails inside the housing. A successful installation should result in a distinct "click" when the front face is flush with the box.
Safety Notice: Handling exposed circuit boards requires care. Avoid touching the solder points directly to prevent static discharge. Always ensure your hands are dry and free of oils before touching internal electronics.
